Joel practices primarily in the areas of general business and transactions, as well as estate planning.
Joel has considerable experience advising small businesses and their principals throughout the business life cycle from formation to transactions to succession planning. He also handles a high volume of estate planning matters from the routine to complex, striving for efficiency and simplicity wherever possible to achieve a client's goals. Mr. Thorp received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2004 where he also received a Law & Business Certificate of Specialization in coordination with the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. He graduated from Wheaton College in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and theology. He has maintained this dual interest in law and ministry, initially working with a large Indianapolis law firm before being invited to join the ministry staff at his church for two years and then returning to the practice of law with O'Koon Hintermeister. In his daily practice, Mr. Thorp most appreciates the opportunity to use both his interest in serving others and his legal expertise to assist clients.
